Bean Dip

1 can red kidney beans, drained and mashed

3 Tbsp. tomato paste

2 Tbsp. cooking oil

1 tsp. salt

¼ tsp. pepper

1 clove garlic, minced

½ cup Dr. Pepper

1 can green chilies, drained

1 tsp. worchestershire sauce

1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated

crisp crumbled bacon

Heat all ingredients in a saucepan until bubbly.  Serve with tortilla chips or Fritoes.

This recipe was published by Dr. Pepper in the 60’s.  It’s a very good bean dip.
